“ This place is one of the best kept secrets of the Annapolis Valley. Delicious, homemade food, all fresh, with generous portions. Very scenic location with a relaxing patio. I would highly recommend going. The restaurant manager, Joerg, is a gracious and friendly host. We will definitely be back. ”
“ As authentic as it gets. We recently enjoyed dinner here for the first time. It feels like you're in a restaurant in Germany. Everyone in our group of four loved dinner. We all tried different German entrees as well as desserts. It all tasted great, including the Erdinger beer. The owner told us a little history of the place and was attentive to all the tables. We have eaten in many restaurants in Germany, and this truly felt like a mini-vacation there, without leaving Nova Scotia. Absolutely worth the drive for a great meal. I only wish we lived closer. ”
“ We visited this Inn last year, it was fantastic. We came back again this year. And we were not disappointed, Barbara and the whole staff were wonderful. We were treated like family, It was just like being home again. We always look forward for breakfast, has it changes every day. My wife and I spent some time in Germany, the restaurant meals brought us back to the wonderful food of Germany. ”
“ Awesome restaurant, awesome people! Arrived on Monday . . . Lucky us . . . The restaurant is closed Tuesday and Wednesday. This was our first time here. We chose Weiner Schnitzel ($23) and Hunter Schnitzel ($27). Both were cooked to perfection! Spatzel (a German pasta-type side dish) was also awesome! Would have preferred red cabbage, but the sauerkraut was fine. Doesn't get better than this! We also splurged for a piece of Black Forest Cake ($9), and having had the same in Germany on more than a few occasions, I can say that there is nothing that comes even close to this!! Absolutely awesome! And to make our evening even more enjoyable, there was live music that just added to the ambiance. Nice! This is simply an outstanding restaurant in every respect. Highly recommend! ”
“ Deserves every bit of its 4.9 rating. It's set in a beautiful remote area of the Annapolis valley with great views of the Bay of Fundy as you drive in. The interior has been designed to give you a feel of a cozy village cafe set somewhere in Europe. The owner Jeorg welcomes you, seats you, takes your orders (with his authentic German touch!) and serves you - so beautiful. And the food and drink menu is so well curated we were tempted to try at least a dozen different items but alas between the two could only order 3. Each turned out to be delicious with the goulash and the frikadellen being particularly spectacular. Highly recommend making a trip. ”
“ I can't say enough good things about this restaurant! My husband and I discovered it on our recent trip to Nova Scotia when we were staying at a nearby inn. Whilst looking for dinner options, I was immediately intrigued when I saw that there was a German restaurant in the area. I am German and Hungarian decent so this is a special treat for me. And it did not disappoint! We had tomato soup and Hunter Schnitzel and both were absolutely delicious. Just like my dad used to make. We sat on the terrace, with our dog who was vacationing with us, and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and sunset on the country landscape. Our server was kind and he even brought a bowl of water for our dog so she wouldn't feel left out :) We went back the following evening again and had another fantastic meal. And, we realized that it is also an inn with pet friendly rooms. Next time we visit Nova Scotia we will be staying here without a doubt. Incredible food, scenery and service, you can't go wrong! Thank you Edelweiss for such a lovely experience the three of us had :) ”
“ We had an amazing meal here tonight. The hunter schnitzel was excellent, and the sauerkraut was the best I've ever had. It's made by the chef. My wife, who is vegan, had a turnip schnitzel, which she loved. And the chef brought a bowl with a vegan goulash gravy that was also excellent. Overall an excellent meal with very attentive service in a beautiful location. Highly recommended. ”
“ Our favourite restaurant in Nova Scotia so far. The German mountain potato soup was easily the best soup we’ve ever had, the schnitzel was tender and flavourful and the Black Forest cake was the perfect amount of sweetness. Run by a lovely man who takes pride in his mastery of serving fresh, authentic, classic German dishes. Needless to say, we look forward to coming back again soon! ”
